JISC and ARMA will be jointly hosting a free one-day event on the topic of repositories and Current Research Information Systems at the Rose Bowl, Leeds Metropolitan University on Friday 7th May 2010. Organised by the Welsh Repository Network (WRN), this event aims to bring together colleagues from both research administration and repository management functions within institutions to explore the synergies, overlaps and opportunities in our role of curating institutional research and publication management information.
Within the event programme we will be considering:
- Why a CRIS? The perspective from the repository and research management communities
- The ideal CRIS: a view from euroCRIS
- DIY Success: Case study from the University Glasgow - How repository and research management systems have been successfully integrated
- Where did it all go wrong?: Case study on how repository and research management systems have not been so successfully integrated
Other sessions include a Café Society discussion where delegates will be encouraged to consider various aspects of CRIS development, and repository and research management system integration. There will also be a marketplace exhibition of the latest CRIS, repository links and research/publication management systems allowing you the chance to explore the various options available to you and your institution first hand.
